You can worry, or you can plan. Planning’s better.
If you missed your opportunity for guaranteed issue of VTL coverage, or you would like to increase your current coverage amount, now’s your chance! From May 12th – 23rd 2025, an annual enrollment opportunity will be offered to eligible employees and their Spouses/Domestic Partners*.
Any guaranteed issue coverage elected during this annual enrollment will go into effect July 1st, 2025.
If you wish to keep your current coverage elections, you do not need to re-enroll during this event.
Employee coverage:
Spouse/Domestic Partner coverage:
Applying for coverage amounts above the guaranteed issue amounts will require proof of good health.
*You and your Spouse/Domestic Partner must meet eligibility requirements. If you apply outside of this annual enrollment opportunity (and you are not in an initial eligibility period for coverage or experiencing a qualifying life event), or if you apply for coverage over guaranteed issue amounts, proof of good health is required and your coverage will start on the date NYL GBS agrees in writing to cover you.
Beneficiary Designations:
Now is a good time to make sure your beneficiary elections are up-to-date and that you have designated the person, or legal entity, who will receive this money at the time of your death. Take a moment to review the Designating Your Beneficiary section for instructions on how to access/designate your current designations on My Account.
